how did they learn to translate languages into other languages how did they know which words meant what HOW DID TH
English Person: *Points at an apple* Apple
French Person: Non c’est une fucking pomme
*800 years of war*
Fun fact: There are a lot of rivers in the UK named “avon” because the Romans arrived and asked the Celts what the rivers were called. The Celts answered “avon.”
“Avon” is just the Celtic word for river.
Fan Fact #2: When Spanish conquistadors landed in the Yucatán peninsula, they asked the natives what their land was called and they responded “Yucatán”. In 2015, it was discovered that in those mesoamerican languages, “Yucatán” meant “I don’t understand what you are saying”
Did Dick really give Robin away without telling Tim? Did Tim really see Damian in the suit and Dick just let it go? Did he really threaten Tim with Arkham? Was the Justice League and Titans really that bad to Tim, that he was cut off from everyone because of Dick?
How many times has Tim’s line been cut? Has he been threatened with murder? How many times has Damian actually tried to kill him? Has Bruce and Dick and Alfred just ignore the threats? Because he was in the League of Assassins?
How much had Damian gotten away with that the other three Robins haven’t?
Jason’s only tried once, at the Tower correct? Or has it been more?
Did Tim really kill hundreds of assassins?
Dick has killed before hasn’t he?
Who has the highest kill count? Jason or Tim, if Tim’s is true?
How much is fanon and how much is canon?
Did Dick really give Robin away without telling Tim?
Actually correction, because it was Alfred the one to give Damian the suit, but it was Dick who was present when Tim saw Damian wearing it and he didn’t say anything
Did Tim really see Damian in the suit and Dick just let it go?
Yes, but give the man some slack he was going through it, and also he tried to get Damian to shut up and asked Tim to stay, obviously that didn’t work out.
Did he really threaten Tim with Arkham?
No, this is fanon, he suggested Tim go to a therapist
Was the Justice League and Titans really that bad to Tim, that he was cut off from everyone because of Dick?
No as far as I remember, I could be wrong
How many times has Tim’s line been cut?
Once as far as I remember, by Damian
Has he been threatened to murder?
Yes, but so has the rest of the batfam 🤷♀️ is an occupational hazard
How many times has Damian tried to kill him?
Trick question, the one at the cave was definitely an attempt at his life, but for the line at this point is inconclusive if he was actually trying or not, like he could very well have know Tim would catch himself and also by this time he had been learning and growing as a person so I would say no that wasn’t an attempt.
Have Bruce, Dick and Alfred ignored these?
Kind of…
Because he was on the League of Assassins?
Yes and no, so technically yes in some instances they do give him a bit of a free pass because of his past, but there have also been instances where they use his past against him, for example Dick wasn’t exactly trilled with Damian when he first showed up. Bruce held him up to ridiculous standards because he was terrified Damian would be more like Ra’s, and the most well known one where Tim had him in a list of potential dangers and how to deal with them during his Red Robin time.
How much as Damian gotten away with that the other Robins haven’t?
Again trick question, he has gotten away with a lot, but so did Tim compared to Jason, and so did Jason, the only Robin that got the short end of the stick was Steph, she was immediately fired as soon as she stepped out of line.
Jason only tried one? At the tower?
One was actually Clay Face pretending to be Jason, but that wasn’t quite an attempt at his life, one was the tower but again that wasn’t quite an attempt, or at least for me it didn’t feel like he wanted him to die, and one was during the battle for the cowl where Jason stabs him at the chest with a batarang, but tbh this last one I don’t think was an actual attempt, but everything is pretty much up for interpretation
Did Tim really kill hundreds of assassins?
Unconfirmed, technically Tim did blow up a lot of league hideouts with no warnings so yes it is possible but we did not really got any confirmation of deaths, so it is pretty much up for interpretation again.
Dick has killed before hasn’t he?
Yes, one was the joker but Bruce resuscitated him, and I believe there was another but don’t trust me, my Nightwing knowledge isn’t that reliable.
Who has the highest kill count?
Impossible to figure out since they don’t really keep a tally so 🤷♀️ also many unconfirmed, many out of screen, can’t really quantify it.
How much is fanon? How much canon?
Oh boy a lot, a lot lot, even I am not sure about my answers here.
If anyone has any correction about my answers, pls do tell me
Just a couple of corrections!
This is actually Jason. It is revealed (In UtRH, I think. Possibly Lost Days?) that after this encounter, he runs off and send Clayface out to finish the fight with Bruce.
Dick never discussed giving the mantle to Damian with Tim, mostly because Dick thought that Tim was at a point that he should have his own identity that was separate from him and Jason. The issue is that Tim didn’t want that. At this point, everyone except for Tim thought Bruce was dead, so they were all grieving and thought that Tim was just refusing to accept what happened, and Tim was getting increasingly frustrated with no one believing him. (Interestingly, during this time, Jason approached Tim to be his partner.)
As of Red Hood and the Outlaws Annual #1, Jason has a confirmed kill count of 83. He has killed more since then, so I’d put his count at about 100-110 by now.
Yeah, that guy’s crispied… And during Tim’s attack on the LoA, in at least one of the locations he hit, it is implied that the only survivors were the Spiders. There is a search and rescue team there for eight hours and it doesn’t appear that they’ve brought out any survivors. So, while it is not absolutely confirmed, this seems much more canon than fanon, that Tim’s kill count puts Jason’s to shame.
Until recently, Tim had been the only one of the Birds who had been targeted for murder in his civilian persona. He has also been targeted for other really sketchy stuff.
Also, and I can’t believe I’m going to say something positive about Geoff freaking Johns here, it really doesn’t seem that Jason actually wants to kill Tim in the attack at Titans Tower. Yeah, they get into a fight, but his aim seems to be much more to convince Tim to stop being Robin because it is going to get him killed. And he’s hurting because he feels no one remembers him, and wants to have mattered. Basically he and Tim just beat the crap out of each other, Jay knocks Tim out, then he runs off and sulks.
And, for a final parting thought, because there’s a weird fanon contingency who seem to think they hate each other…
I just know that when Romeo and Juliet premiered two ye olde girlies in the pit at intermission were like didst thou see the sparks betwixt Tybalt and mercutio… aye and not from their swords alone!
